The acid free heavyweight material will make sure the paper is protected and prevent the print on the newspaper or magazine from fading or smudges.
COLLECTIBLE ITEMS
While 11 x 17 seems like an odd size, there are actually some vintage documents that are in this size - like old railroad timetables, also called horse blankets. These timetables are often in larger paper size because it must have a lot of information on it that both employee and passengers need to know. For example, a timetable could tell passengers when a train is leaving and how many trains are scheduled to leave. For an employee, the information can be about logistics like when they need to prepare for the arrival or departure of any train.
Nonetheless, these horse blankets are very unique in the sense that it can offer a lot of information and history. That is why it has become a hobby for people to collect said timetables and they will often use 11 x 17 sheet protectors to keep what they find safe and archived. These horse blanket timetables are very precious and contains great deal of history, therefore it's important to be able to have a sheet protector that will keep them from possible damages.
